The Source Recheck Checklist

Seven questions to run against a draft before it goes out.

1. 01 Does each source open? Click every link.
2. 02 Is the claim actually in the source? Find the sentence.
3. 03 Does every number have a named origin? Say where each one came from.
4. 04 Does the recommendation follow from the evidence? Cover it up and read again.
5. 05 Are the risky claims marked? Money, health, safety, reputation.
6. 06 Are the assumptions written down? Put each beside the number it made.
7. 07 Is one gap admitted? Name what you could not check.
